European startups raised over €3.9 billion last week

European startups recorded more than 70 tech funding deals worth over €3.9 billion, alongside over 5 exits, M&A transactions, rumours, and related news stories. The strongest sector was artificial intelligence (€3 billion), followed by space (€387.5 million) and healthtech (€115.1 million).

France led country-level funding with €3.2 billion, ahead of Germany (€481.2 million) and the UK (€86.1 million). The largest round was Mistral’s €3B Series D for sovereign AI, followed by The Exploration Company’s $450M Series C for reusable space transport and Positive’s €106M refinancing to support acquisitions.

Other notable financings included Tavion’s over €44.6M round for battery storage expansion in Poland, Limetax’s €36M plan to build an AI roll-up of Germany’s tax industry, and Implicity’s €35M raise to scale cardiac AI. M&A activity was led by Bending Spoons’ definitive agreement to acquire Miro for €1.7B, while Greenly acquired Normative for $63M.
