Europe expands AI-on-Demand Platform for research and industry
Europe’s expanded AI-on-Demand Platform, or AIoD, has launched as a trusted digital access point for AI tools, datasets and services across research and industry. Developed through the EU-funded AI4Europe and DeployAI projects, with EIT Digital involved as a key partner, the platform is intended to consolidate fragmented European AI resources while supporting technological sovereignty, transparency and responsible innovation.
The platform offers researchers and innovators a repository of over 500,000 AI assets, including datasets, tools and software. Services such as the Metadata Catalogue, AI Catalogue and Research and Innovation AI Lab are designed to support collaboration, reuse and transfer of publicly funded research into practical applications.
For industry, including SMEs, startups and public-sector organisations, AIoD provides market-ready AI solutions, low-code development tools, HPC training resources, secure European hosting environments and a dedicated AI marketplace. Additional tools include AI Builder, the EU AI Ecosystem Mapping tool, Eurocore for robotics, RoboCompass and secure single sign-on access.
AI4Europe, launched in 2022 under Horizon Europe and led by University College Cork, will run through to the end of 2025. DeployAI, initiated in 2024 under the Digital Europe Programme and coordinated by Fraunhofer IAIS, will continue until 2027.
