Cognizant partners with Domyn for sovereign AI in EMEA

Cognizant is partnering with Milan-headquartered Domyn, formerly iGenius, to pursue sovereign AI opportunities across the UK and Ireland, Continental Europe and the Middle East. Domyn will provide LLM infrastructure that can run inside client environments, on-premises or in private cloud, while Cognizant will handle application development, integration and domain execution.

The alliance is aimed at highly regulated sectors seeking to keep data under client control and align with European regulatory frameworks. Cognizant plans to train and adapt Domyn models into smaller, domain-specific systems, build agents and applications for industry use cases, and manage legacy data pipelines, data cleaning and model-alignment work.

The timing reflects rising enterprise concern about reliance on individual technology providers after US government actions restricted access to OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 and forced Anthropic to withdraw its most capable models from foreign nationals. Domyn is politically endorsed in Europe, leads the EU’s EUROPA frontier-model consortium and builds NVIDIA/G42-backed supercomputers, but remains a scale-up with infrastructure still in development.

Cognizant is also applying GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber through its Frontier AI Cyber Defense services. The company is positioning its 5,000+ security professionals as the implementation layer for model-driven remediation, but faces a crowded field of global integrators and 19 vendors in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program.
