CKEditor adds inline content checks with AI Review
CKEditor’s AI Review runs on-demand quality checks directly inside the editor, presenting proposed edits as inline track changes rather than applying them automatically. Users can inspect and accept or reject suggestions individually or in bulk, while rich-text formatting is preserved. The workflow targets full-document reviews rather than continuous corrections as users type.
The feature includes five built-in checks covering proofreading, clarity, readability, length, and tone and style. Teams can run checks separately or combine them in a review session. Custom prompts support additional requirements such as legal formatting, academic style, brand voice and compliance language. Users can also enter one-off instructions for ad hoc reviews, with results appearing in the same suggestion interface.
Engineers can configure review prompts and use role-based access controls to determine who can initiate checks. Supported model providers include OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini, alongside custom providers. Cloud and on-premises deployments are available, with the latter allowing content processing to remain within an organization’s infrastructure. For long documents, AI Review divides content into chunks and processes them in parallel across multiple model calls. It also works alongside CKEditor’s AI Chat, AI Translate and AI Quick Actions.
