AMD plans substantial chip supply increase in 2027

·1 min read

AMD CEO Lisa Su said the company will substantially increase chip supply in 2027, while acknowledging that customer demand remains ahead of what AMD can ship. Speaking to reporters in Taipei on Tuesday, Su said AMD has increased supply through 2026 but still needs more capacity.

Su said demand is expected to remain very high for the next several years, creating a need for more advanced wafer capacity. Her comments came during her third trip to Taiwan this year, where she is meeting partners including Foxconn, Quanta, Acer, and ASUS, with TSMC also on the schedule.

Su is reportedly set to travel to South Korea later this week for meetings with memory suppliers Samsung and SK Hynix, underscoring AMD’s push to secure the components and manufacturing support needed to expand shipments.
