QuEra pursues AI automation and fault-tolerant quantum computing

·1 min read

QuEra is using AI to automate a critical quantum computer subsystem, with the aim of accelerating commercial-grade deployments. The company announced the work on August 27, 2026. Other research topics include Qubrio, which applies multi-agent LLM collaboration to high-performance quantum compilation, and tools for simulating logical quantum circuits at scale.

On September 22, 2026, QuEra announced a collaboration with HPE to bring fault-tolerant quantum computing to on-premises high-performance computing environments. Terra Quantum joined the QuEra Quantum Alliance on October 15, 2026, adding software and algorithms expertise. QuEra also announced that its scientists had been named co-principal investigators on teams participating in the Department of Energy’s quantum chemistry program.

These efforts build on QuEra’s cloud-accessible hardware. Aquila became available through Amazon Braket on November 1, 2022, as the first neutral-atom quantum computer publicly available on the cloud. Current research also covers atom-loss correction, neutral-atom reservoir computing and a fault-tolerant architecture for universal quantum computation.
