AI companies push into business workflows, research and space

·1 min read

OpenAI expanded partnerships with Oracle and ServiceNow to connect ChatGPT, Codex, models and agents with existing business applications, data and workflows. It also supported a common mechanism for websites to express preferences about AI training and announced closer cooperation with external security researchers to find and fix vulnerabilities.

Google reported an early milestone for Project Suncatcher: a satellite-mounted TPU ran a query through Gemma 4 and returned the generated response to Earth. Further research will examine heat and radiation effects, with an experiment coordinating multiple satellites planned in 2027. The demonstration does not constitute a completed space-based AI data center.

Anthropic shared early progress and challenges in Claude-assisted drug discovery through collaborations with six organizations, including BigHat Biosciences and Bristol Myers Squibb. Its expanded AI for Science program includes collaborations with 20 research foundations, institutions, and groups across fields ranging from medicine to climate research.

xAI highlighted Data Bot, an agent that queries internal data using analyst-defined metrics and procedures and can deliver recurring reports in Slack. Qwen Code added automatic follow-ups after pull request creation, recurring-task management and background-session reconnection, alongside execution-check improvements. Together, these efforts extend AI into operational workflows, although some remain experimental or limited in availability.
