Hippocratic AI launches Polaris 6 Ultra for patient conversations
Hippocratic AI has introduced Polaris 6 Ultra, a healthcare voice model designed to adapt to patients’ emotional states and plan its next sentence while speaking. The company calls the capability “bedside intuition” and says it allows agents to adjust conversations without an audible pause. Plans are logged alongside transcripts in a Safety Portal so clinicians can review which risks the model identified or deferred.
The release combines model-directed voice generation, reinforcement learning and updated clinical speech recognition. Hippocratic AI says its speech system correctly pronounces 90% of 629 evaluated drug names, versus 75% for the leading commercial text-to-speech system. Its primary model operates within a safety constellation containing 30 specialist supervisors and 142 production monitors. The company reports a 1.3× end-to-end speedup over Polaris 5, despite expanding the constellation and adding mid-speech reasoning.
Ultra targets clinical patient-facing conversations, while Pro and Flash serve subclinical workloads and Nano handles administrative tasks. Expanded electronic health record integration and flexible pricing accompany the rollout, although specific prices were not disclosed. Hippocratic AI says releases undergo clinical testing, validation by licensed clinicians and human oversight before reaching patients. Its agents do not diagnose or prescribe.
