Harvey dominates funding as legal AI specialists gain backing

·1 min read

Legal AI startups raised at least $748 million across 12 selected funding rounds tracked through October 2026. Harvey accounted for approximately 74% of that capital, securing $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation. Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners co-led the financing, which will support specialized models, computing capacity and technical hiring.

Harvey and Noxtua together represented roughly 89% of disclosed funding. Noxtua secured more than €100 million through a Series C involving European legal publishers. C.H.BECK became its majority shareholder, distinguishing the transaction from a conventional minority venture investment. Excluding Harvey and Noxtua, the other startups raised approximately $82 million combined, with a median round of $5.4 million.

Specialized research and contract platforms also attracted backing. Pandektes raised approximately $15.3 million in a Series A led by Alstin Capital to expand legal data coverage and develop APIs. Chamelio secured $26 million in a Series A led by Entrée Capital for its corporate legal platform. Magnar raised $8 million to strengthen jurisdiction-specific research and drafting tools across Latin America.

Infrastructure and litigation tools show the breadth of investor interest. Newcode raised $13.5 million to expand customizable legal agents and workflows, while Grubel secured approximately $3.5 million for matter-specific AI research. Concorda and Discernis attracted seed funding for litigation drafting and evidence analysis. Safahat.ai focuses on Turkish legal workflows, while EnforceShield extends automation into intellectual-property enforcement for brand owners.
