AMD brings FSR 4.1 to older Radeon cards and Xbox
AMD is expanding FSR 4.1 support to Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards, integrated graphics in several Ryzen processor families, and Xbox consoles. Jack Huynh, AMD’s computing and graphics chief, announced the expansion. The supported Radeon cards use the RDNA 2 graphics architecture and date back to 2020.
AMD has developed and optimized FSR 4.1 for the entire RX 6000 series lineup, including the top RX 6950 XT and entry-level RX 6400. Integrated graphics support spans all Ryzen AI Max ‘Strix Halo’ and ‘Gorgon Halo’ APUs, along with Ryzen AI 9 ‘Strix Point’ and ‘Gorgon Point’ mobile processors.
The expansion also includes Ryzen Z2 series processors for gaming handhelds. Beyond its PC hardware, AMD has worked with Microsoft to bring FSR 4.1 to both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.
