TurbineOne and OpenAI team on military AI tools

·1 min read

TurbineOne has partnered with OpenAI to bring advanced AI capabilities into military operating environments, combining OpenAI’s models with TurbineOne’s software for frontline defense and national security users. The companies plan to integrate OpenAI’s models into secure computing environments used by military personnel, with an emphasis on making AI available where missions are carried out.

The collaboration is framed around responsible, secure and effective use of advanced AI for operational challenges. Katrina Mulligan, Head of National Security Partnerships at OpenAI for Government, said the work will help explore how advanced capabilities can support national security users. TurbineOne CEO Ian Kalin said OpenAI’s technology will be paired with tools designed for warfighters in the environments where they operate.

TurbineOne describes its software as deployed globally for defense and national security missions, helping operators identify important information, make decisions and coordinate action, including in settings where cloud-dependent AI cannot operate.
