Trump pushes AI growth as China responds to super intelligence label

The policy debate widened as Attorney General Todd Blanche rejected calls for new AI laws after reports of rogue agents targeting U.S. government websites, while Bill Gates supported broader safeguards beyond a possible “kill switch.” Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate is located, voted for a 1-year pause on data center construction, even as the administration prepared to showcase America.gov as a new federal service portal.
