Meta debuts tools for building games from text prompts

Meta has detailed Horizon Create and Horizon Studio, two generative AI tools designed to help people build playable 2D and 3D games from text prompts. Both products run on the Meta Horizon Engine and support publishing across Meta’s apps, including Facebook and Instagram.

Horizon Create is a mobile app built for quick creation while on the go. Horizon Studio is a web-based tool with more detailed controls for adjusting difficulty, art direction, progression systems, environments, characters, quests, and levels.

Horizon VP Saxs Persson said creators can describe a game in their own words and have the system start building it with them. Persson emphasized that the tools are intended to produce playable experiences rather than sketches or prototypes.
