Okta adds identity tools for AI-era permissions

·1 min read

Okta introduced AI powered Identity Governance and Zero Standing Privilege tools designed to secure both human users and AI identities across enterprise environments. The features extend the company’s identity platform into integrated governance, privileged access controls and faster deployment for customers managing access across complex corporate systems.

The rollout targets credential abuse and unauthorized permissions as AI workloads become more common inside businesses. Okta is positioning the suite for AI agents and other nonhuman identities, with real time permission revocation and faster 48 hour integrations intended to reduce identity sprawl in cloud environments.

Adoption will be judged partly by whether AI focused identity deals appear in Okta’s fiscal 2027 guidance and Q2 2027 revenue range of US$790m to US$794m. Commentary on Zero Standing Privilege and Advanced Entitlement Management uptake would indicate whether the new products are becoming meaningful contributors to subscription sales.
