ImpactLab maps global AI rules and deadlines

·1 min read

ImpactLab’s AI Policy Radar is a live dataset and dashboard for AI regulation, covering 23 jurisdictions and blocs across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and international bodies. Version 2.1 was last reviewed on 13 August 2026 and lists 53 instruments, 10 deadlines and 34 signals, with the next review set for 10 September 2026.

The tracker highlights near-term obligations including the EU AI Act content-marking grace period ending on 2 December 2026, the EU revised Product Liability Directive applying to AI products from 9 December 2026, and Norway’s expected EEA incorporation planning marker on 1 January 2027. It also records obligations already in effect, including EU AI Act transparency duties from 2 August 2026, the Colorado AI Act from 30 June 2026, South Korea’s AI Framework Act from 22 January 2026, and Texas TRAIGA from 1 January 2026.

Entries are placed by stage and effective date, using official texts and primary regulator publications, with a daily scan feeding an editorial review queue. The dataset is versioned, available as JSON and CSV, and published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), while jurisdiction maturity is scored from 0 to 4 across five governance dimensions.
