Memory outlook splits in 2027 as DRAM stays tight
TrendForce expects AI to remain the main source of memory demand in 2027, but the outlook for DRAM and NAND Flash is set to split. DRAM supply is projected to stay constrained as HBM capacity allocation continues, AI server demand remains strong, and buyers increase procurement of CPU memory and HBM.
Those conditions are expected to keep DRAM prices on an upward path. NAND Flash faces a softer setup, with supply projected to loosen in 2H27 as new production capacity comes online while consumer electronics demand remains weak. The combination is expected to add downward pressure on NAND Flash pricing, creating a divergent market for memory suppliers and buyers.
