Unreleased Surface Laptop Ultra tested after roadside find

An unreleased Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra featuring NVIDIA’s RTX Spark Arm-based SoC has appeared in an unusually early hands-on test after TechPowerUp forum user Fouquin found the device on the side of the road and picked it up, assuming it was trash.

The testing was not an official TechPowerUp review and cannot be directly compared with the site’s existing laptop and CPU benchmarks. Even so, Fouquin ran the machine through the Phoronix test suite, providing a detailed early look at the system before its official launch.

The laptop initially shipped with very old graphics drivers, but Fouquin updated it to NVIDIA preview version 616.00, which enabled CUDA support for the built-in Blackwell GPU. The Spark SoC in the test unit is the top-end variant with 6,144 cores and a 20-core CPU.
