Generative AI leaders sharpen models, pricing and enterprise strategies in 2026
The generative AI market in 2026 is led by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Microsoft, DeepSeek, Mistral AI, Perplexity AI, xAI, Meta AI and Sarvam AI, with Kimi AI also highlighted as a fast-expanding contender. Competition is centered on frontier models, multimodal systems, AI agents, coding assistants, voice products, search, enterprise automation and regional AI infrastructure.
OpenAI introduced the GPT-5.6 family, ChatGPT Work and GPT-Live, while reporting $122bn in funding at a post-money valuation of $852bn. Anthropic advanced Claude with Fable 5, Mythos 5, Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 5, and announced a $65 billion Series H funding round at a $965 billion post-money valuation.
