Acrab introduces GELIX 1 chip and Agent Box for local AI agents

·1 min read

Acrab unveiled GELIX 1, its first-generation edge AI system-on-chip, alongside Agent Box, a personal edge AI system built on the company’s full-stack computing platform. The products are positioned for agentic systems that need to understand context, remember preferences, coordinate tools and devices, and respond in real time.

Local operation is intended to reduce latency, keep sensitive information under user control and preserve core functions when cloud connectivity is limited. Acrab said models in the 100 billion parameter class have historically required cloud infrastructure, while GELIX 1 is designed to support state-of-the-art models at that scale in edge systems. Agent Box uses the GELIX platform to provide local large-model inference, persistent memory, multimodal interactions and agent orchestration for more personalized AI agent workflows.
