Clark Hill expands firmwide legal AI access with Thomson Reuters

Clark Hill has signed an enterprise agreement with Thomson Reuters to expand firmwide access to advanced legal AI capabilities, including Next Gen CoCounsel, Westlaw Advantage, and Practical Law. The firm said the move supports its broader plan to become one of the legal industry’s most advanced and responsibly governed adopters of generative AI.

The agreement follows more than two years of planning, evaluation, pilot programs, governance development, and attorney training. Clark Hill said its strategy is designed to go beyond technology procurement by emphasizing governance, education, security, ethics, and long-term attorney development.

Every Clark Hill attorney will gain broad access to AI-powered tools for legal research, drafting, document analysis, summarization, review, and workflow support, built on Thomson Reuters legal content and research platforms. The arrangement also expands CoCounsel access while integrating AI more deeply into the firm’s Westlaw and Practical Law environment.

Clark Hill said its wider AI portfolio includes Microsoft Copilot for attorneys, business professionals, and administrative teams, along with other enterprise-grade tools reviewed for security, ethics, and operations. The firm said clients increasingly expect outside counsel to use advanced technology while maintaining standards for confidentiality, verification, and quality.
